I'd like to inform you that we've now achieved incredible results in protecting our and your data on 4host.ch, proactively protecting you from constant threats and dangers from across the internet.
This information is very important as we want to make you aware that:
- outdated scripts
- outdated plugins
- outdated themes
are a potential attack vector for your data but also for our infrastructure (in some cases where critical issues are significant).
For this reason, we urge you to ensure that everything is up to date. If our intervention becomes necessary, and this is usually charged at CHF 180 (a one-time fee), this can be charged if the situation requires urgency and the vulnerability is of a medium/severe nature.
If serious tampering is discovered, fines can be very heavy, starting from CHF 400.- but can reach up to CHF 2,000.- or more, and this is in addition to the one-time administrative fee for our initial intervention.
We are committed to avoiding these measures and are always disappointed when we are forced to intervene, and we are always reluctantly forced to intervene to stem even more destructive future situations. Some vulnerabilities can not only steal your credentials but can also open the door to more serious consequences for our infrastructure.
We ask all webmasters/web designers or anyone responsible for a website to promptly update scripts, plugins and themes.
Finally, we would like to remind you that we have a very efficient support service that updates free and paid plugins and themes on a quarterly basis for CHF 140.- per year on behalf of our customers. We already have volume licensing agreements for various paid plugins and themes.
A large number of paid themes and plugins are already covered by our support, but we ask you to contact us for more information and to find out if a paid theme or plugin is also covered by annual support.
